Ocean Aid is a campaign created to raise awareness about the pollution collecting in our oceans and inspire community action to keep our oceans clean. Co-founded by eco-entrepreneur, Anthony Zolezzi, Ocean Aid uses new technology, social media and group collaboration to educate about the importance of oceans as our life support system.
Steven Stallard
Steven Stallard, one America’s top chefs, received his formal training at West Virginia’s renowned Greenbrier Hotel, the Tailevent Restaurant of Paris, and the Culinary Institute of America, and has since devoted his career to the development of truly American cuisine based on naturally sourced ingredients. His career has included positions as corporate chef for Dow Chemical Corp, in Midland, Mich., and Amway Hotels, inc., executive chef and general manager for the Racquet Club of Memphis, Tenn., and sous chef at the Greenbrier, as well as owner of Atlantic Farms, Inc. He has also served on the advisory boards of Plitt Seafood of Chicago and Northwood University’s Hotel & Institutional Program in Midland, Mich.
The co-founder and developer of BliS, a producer of unique naturally sourced gourmet foods, Steven has been involved in organic agriculture since childhood, when his family maintained a pesticide-free half-acre truck garden northern Michigan. Always fascinated by the culinary arts, he first began cooking at the age of eight, and by nine was already responsible for directing a half dozen adults in feeding 200 people at a Presbyterian Church camp.
Steven is also an avid fly fisherman, an accomplished outdoor photographer and a licensed Michigan river guide. While he has spent much of his life engaged in activities on inland rivers and fresh-water lakes, his understanding of the relationship between all of the Earth’s waterways (as well as his passion for healthy, unadulterated food) is what motivated him to join the efforts being undertaken by Ocean Aid.
